The sentence fully demonstrates the firm resolve and strong will of the HKSAR in punishing crimes endangering national security in accordance with the law. As stated by Chief Executive John Lee, Jimmy Lai has committed heinous crimes and is thoroughly evil. This heavy sentence upholds the rule of law, delivers justice, and is widely welcomed. The Hong Kong Federation of Journalists (HKFJ) expresses its firm support for the judgment.

The High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) delivered its verdict on the 15th, finding Jimmy Lai, founder of Next Digital, guilty of two counts of conspiracy to collude with foreign forces and one count of conspiracy to publish seditious publications. This ruling was made by the judiciary in accordance with the law, justly and openly, fully embodies the spirit of the rule of law in Hong Kong and effectively safeguards national security in the region, which has been widely applauded by the Hong Kong public. The Hong Kong Federation of Journalists (HKFJ) firmly supports the High Court's verdict and stands resolutely behind the HKSAR in fulfilling its constitutional responsibility to safeguard national security.

香港特區高等法院於15日作出裁決，壹傳媒創辦人黎智英涉嫌兩項串謀勾結外國勢力罪、一項串謀發布煽動刊物罪全部成立。這是司法機構依法、公正、公開作出的裁決，充分體現香港的法治精神，有力維護了香港的國家安全，廣大香港市民對此拍手稱快。香港新聞聯堅決支持高等法院此次裁決，堅定支持香港特區履行維護國家安全的憲制責任。

11月26日下午，大埔宏福苑發生五級火災事故，造成重大人員傷亡。本會對遇難市民表示沉痛哀悼，向遇難者家屬及受傷人士致以誠摯慰問，願傷者早日康復。對於在救援任務中英勇殉職的消防人員，本會謹致以最崇高的敬意，並向其家屬表達最深切的關懷與慰問。

本會注意到，在黎智英涉及違反香港國安法一案結案陳詞前夕，「無國界記者」組織發表所謂的聲明，捏造事實，公然抹黑恐嚇特區司法機關，意圖替違法分子開脫。這是對法治的踐踏，也是對特區內部事務的粗暴干預，香港新聞工作者聯會對此表示堅決反對並予以強烈譴責。

香港新聞聯2日注意到，「無國界記者組織」（RSF）發表所謂的2025年世界新聞自由指數，香港外國記者會（FCC）亦發表所謂主席聲明，大肆抹黑香港新聞自由。有關言論置事實於不顧，顛倒黑白，是徹頭徹尾的政治抹黑，本會對此予以最嚴厲的譴責。

今日，香港區域法院就《立場新聞》母公司Best Pencil (Hong Kong) Limited、前總編輯鐘沛權、時任署任總編輯林紹桐被控「串謀發布或複製煽動刊物」罪作出判刑。法院判決充分彰顯了香港高度的法治精神，充分體現了司法公正公義，充分保障了香港的新聞自由，香港新聞工作者聯會堅決支持。
